Mushroom Pie

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • Traditional Zagorisio fillo (6 pie leaves)
  • 1000gr Mushrooms
  • 3 large onions
  • 2 peppers of different colors
  • 200gr feta cheese
  • 3 Spring onions
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • fresh dill
  • Oregano
  • spearmint
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Recipe Execution:

Cut into slices the mushrooms and the onions .

Saute mushrooms and onion with oil until golden brown.

Add the peppers, chopped dill and spices and let the sauce for about 10-25 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool. Add the grated feta and eggs, mix well.

Unpack the pie leaves. Bake two of them in the oven, lay the other 3 ,spread the filling, rub toasted pie leaves and cover with another one, closing well the edges making small holes with a fork on the pie. (the leave over is not necessary to do therefore to avoid drying the mushrooms).

Bake for 40-45 minutes at 200 degrees.
